Asus just announced the Asus Eee 1215N multimedia netbook with New Technology an Intel Atom D525 processor and Nvidia ION platform with switchable graphics. Battery life is said to be improved through automatic switching between discrete and integrated graphics. The Eee 1215N Netbook has now went official with Asus offering up the full specs on Facebook.

The NVIDIA ION graphics processor allows for 1080p video to be played back on the 1366 x 768 screen without problems or glitches according to the press release.” Hardware decoders embedded within the 1215N perfectly decode H.264, VC1 and MPEG2 file formats while the HDMI-output port enables Full HD 1080p playback on large screen displays. ”

The Asus 1215N netbook comes with a 12.1-inch LCD with a 1366×768 resolution with the newest Intel Dual-core N500 CPU that will run on 1.5GHz. Other specs for connectivity and a storage options of either 250GB or 320GB, USB 3.0, Bluetooth 3.0 Optimus tech and the usual 802.11n Wi-Fi. Bluetooth 3.0 is also included which is quicker than Bluetooth 2.1 by up to 8x, again in the right circumstances. Connectivity also includes wireless 802.11n as well as compatibility with older wireless networks when needed.

Asus Eee 1215N also has a webcam and comes pre-installed with applications like the Asus Vibe, giving users access to music, videos, radio stations, and other forms of online entertainment.

The ASUS 1215N Laptop is also capable of charging mobile phones via USB even when the Eee PC is switched off. The mobile phone can also draw power from the Eee PC’s battery, and it’s expected to hit the store in July 2010 and will be price at $550 to $600 depend on which region you are residing at.
