Dell Inspiron M101zDell UK has launched the Inspiron M101z 11.6-inch screen ultraportable laptop, with AMD’s technology. Offering more power than a netbook while costing less than a laptop with an Intel CULV processor, this type of  Dell Inspiron M101z notebook might just hit the sweet spot for a lot of users.

This Dell M101z laptop is currently being offered in the UK with two different AMD Neo CPU options: a 1.7GHz single-core Athlon II K125 or a dual-core 1.3GHz Athlon K325 along with ATI RS880M integrated graphics. the Dell Inspiron  M101z notebook is available with up to 4GB of DDR3 and a 250GB or 320GB hard-drive.  Being a proper notebook, it also runs a full-fat copy of Windows 7 Home Premium instead of the stripped-down Starter edition. The 11.6 inchi screen retains the same 1366×768 resolution, and there is an HDMI port for connecting to larger, more capable displays.

On the design front, it carries a similar design to their other recent Inspiron releases and unlike the Dell Inspiron 11z it has a flush battery and a proper trackpad from the get go. you will be able to satisfy your curiousity on the 6-cell 56Wh battery life of the Dell M101z which stands at 6 hours or so, being average in terms of weight at 3.44lbs / 1.56 kg. As for connectivity, the M101z packs all of the normal ports like 802.11n wireless, Ethernet LAN, Bluetooth 3.0, a SIM card slot, three USB ports, and includes an HDMI-out, a 3-in-1 card reader and a SIM-card slot for good measure.

The Dell Inspiron  M101z perfect for at home or on the go with the performance of a laptop and the portability of a netbook. Fashion aficionados should also be happy with the various patterned lid choices and colour-matching keyboard highlights, including Clear Black, Peacock Blue and Tomato Red, or the delectable Lotus Pink featuring an organic pattern on the palm-rest.

So far, Inspiron  M101z notebook has only been released in the UK with priced from £379 – £499. Pricing and availability for the US has not been announced, but the Dell Inspiron  M101z 1.7GHz single-core Athlon II K125 model works out to about $587 and the ddual-core 1.3GHz Athlon K325 costs with price $664.
