Motorola DEFYMotorola has just announced its second rugged smartphone namely the Motorola Defy. The Defy Smartphone is combining the utility of Android with ruggedness and MOTOBLUR user interface that support Google service and Swype-keyboard.

Specs of Motorola Defy are an 800MHz TI OMAP 3610 processor, 3.7” touchscreen display with a 480 x 854 pixel resolution Corning Gorilla Glass display, 512MB RAM, a Swype keyboard, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, a microUSB jack, 2GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot and running on Android 2.1 OS with MOTOBLUR. Measuring 59 x 107 x 13.4 mm and weighing in at 118 grams.

Motorola Defy also has features Swype technology for faster text input, DLNA (DIGITAL LIVING NETWORK ALLIANCE) that allows share content wirelessly with other DLNA equipped devices, CrystalTalk Plus to help filter out background noise and amplify your voice, Connected Music Player brings song lyrics to your songs and enables you to discover, buy and download music, right from your phone and meet IP67 standards, which is dust-proof and resist as well as being able to withstand 30 minutes submerged in water.

For networks support WCDMA 900/2100, GSM 850/900/1800/1900, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps (Category 7/8), EDGE Class 12, GPRS Class 12, HSUPA 2.0 Mbps and 1540 mAh battery that can boast up to 400 minutes of talk time or up to 400 hours of standby time. Motorola DEFY also sports aGPS (assisted) with Google Maps, Google Maps Navigation (BETA), and eCompass.

DEFY packs advanced web browsing, entertainment and messaging capabilities as well as a design that withstands the challenges of everyday life  The Motorola Defy will be released in Q4 (sometime in October or later) but have yet to confirm pricing or network carriers.
