DreamBook Power W87Pioneer has released new Notebook called the DreamBook Power W87. The Pioner DreamBook Power W87 is a full on, full-sized machine, firmly on the desktop-replacement side of the mobility divide. That said, it’s not too hefty, as the easier to cool Intel Core i7 and Nvidia’s latest mobile chips don’t require quite so much in the way of heat management hardware. It’s a pleasingly satin black machine, eschewing the so-popular piano-gloss finish that seems purpose built to trap grime and finger prints.

This DreamBook W87 Notebook is powered by a 2GHz Intel Core i7-920XM Quad-Core processor (3.2 GHz with Turbo Boost mode), up to 8GB RAM, and up to dual hard drive with 1TB each or two 256GB solid-state drive (SSD). The Pioneer DreamBook Power W87 is also equipped with 17.3 inch screen with a resolution of Full HD 1920 × 1080 pixels, a GeForce GTX Go graphics accelerator 280m with 1GB memory, 2 megapixel camera, four speakers and a subwoofer, four USB 2.0 port, HDMI and DVI-I. It is optional Blu-ray drive, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, and Bluetooth, as well as fingerprint reader. Dimensions of DreamBook Power W87 laptop are 412×279×39-48 mm and weigh about 4 pounds.

The Dreambook W87 keyboard is solidly built, with a good key travel separation, and it features a numeric keypad. However, the slightly two small keys do lead to a lot of mis-types when tough-typing, and mis-keys when gaming. On either side of the keyboard are two speakers, but you may as well cover these with gaff or band flyers – really, that’s far more useful than actually listening to their tinny, empty failings at reproducing sound.

The left edge has another USB port, a multi-card reader, IE 1394 port and a DVD/CD burner. There are more ports at the rear, hidden by a flimsy plastic door: two more USB, one HDMI and an ethernet port, as well as the power adapter plug. The HD screen is certainly bright, though, and reproduces both the desktop and in-game colour very well. Text is crisp, and no detail is lost at all.

The Pioneer DreamBook Power W87 is an entertainment and gaming laptop which offering an impressive performance features. The Pioneer Power W87 is now available with a starting price at $2,499.
